Cricket Field House has been a guest house in Salisbury for 28 years offering Bed & Breakfast accommodation to visitors from near and far. It is run by the Family James, Margaret, Brian, son Andrew and Snoop and Chester (the dogs)!

Back in 1986 Margaret and Brian saw the potential of two run down, 200 year old game keepers’ cottages, sat on the outskirts of the medieval city of Salisbury on the A36, approximately 1 mile from Salisbury and half a mile from the ancient capital of Wessex, Wilton. Back then the internet didn’t exist, but Margaret and Brian had a vision that if they sympathetically extended and joined the cottages together, forming one house, they could begin to provide B&B accommodation for tourists and business people alike, who were travelling on the A36 to visit or work in Salisbury and its surrounding towns and villages.

And so it began!

Back then we only had 6 letting rooms, and our business came solely from people seeing the sign and coming off the road to see if we had rooms available. Over time, 4 more rooms were added and then the internet was born!

In the mid 90’s The Annexe ( fondly referred to as The Pavillion by some guests ) was built and we developed the land to the side of the House into a Car Park for our guests.

Nearly 30 years later, we are still here, with 19 guest bedrooms (all en-suite) and a 2 bedroom serviced apartment. We have become one of the top B&B accommodation providers in Salisbury. We pride ourselves in making our guests feel as welcome as possible, many visitors come back time and time again and say they feel it is like a home from home for them. If you are thinking about coming to Salisbury and want fantastic service, coupled with lovely rooms that suit all budgets and probably the “best breakfast in Wiltshire,” then look no further than Cricket Field House.
